Emergency Use Listing
Abbreviation: EUL
Regulatory DefinitionsEN
Definition
A WHO procedure that time-limits the listing of diagnostics (and other health products) for use in public-health emergencies when full prequalification is not yet available.
Extended Notes
EUL is condition-specific and does not automatically convert to permanent WHO prequalification; national acceptance of EUL-listed products varies by jurisdiction. Procurement documents should cite the listing status and scope, not just the product name.
